Responsibilities
NBCU is seeking an experienced data-savvy individual that will come to lead the Analytics, Data Science, and Data Engineering functions for the division. The role will form part of the Strategy and Insights team but will have cross-functional responsibilities. The main goal is to help ensure that we can access all the data we need and produce the reporting dashboards that will help drive our business decisions.

The ideal candidate would have a solid background leading efforts around data visualization, database management, and data modeling while being able to understand a media company's business needs.

Job Duties
• Lead the Analytics team for NBCUniversal Networks Latin America, which encompasses Analytics, Data Science, and Data Engineering team members
• Oversee the vision and implementation of our data requirements from collection to production of insights on all first, secondary, and third-party data
• Be the liaison between the Strategy & Insights team, NBCU Enterprise BI teams, and other NBCUniversal Networks Latin America stakeholders
• Work on cross-functional projects that will help in better organizing and visualizing data
• Main priority will be overseeing the reporting needs for accurately measuring our STB VOD, Affiliate VOD, and TVE VOD audience metrics as well as app performance for Universal+: content consumption, audience flow, app performance metrics, marketing analytics, etc.
• The individual will also collaborate on other data-driven projects such as unification of the audience and ad inventory data for our digital products, CRM, content inventory, and others
• Manage the relationships and negotiations with our data vendors
• Help in managing the budget tied to Analytics
• The person will be the one to connect the dots between identifying where to source our data, transforming and storing the data, automating the data, identifying and implementing reporting needs, and applying data science models such as machine learning and predictive analytics
• Work closely with our Digital Product team and third-party data vendors to ensure data is being housed, structured, and connected in the most efficient manner for being able to fulfill reporting needs
• Support in determining and developing the analyses for experimentation activities such as customer acquisition and app performance
• Help identifying where are the data gaps in our division and propose solutions to tackle them
• Help foster a data-centric environment within the company and educate peers on how to use data for their day-to-day functions

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Fully fluent in English and Spanish is a must, Portuguese is a plus
• 8+ years of relevant data experience is a must
• 3+ year of managerial experience
• Degree in Data Science, MIS, Mathematics, or related field

Additional Job Requirements
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in Miami

Desired Characteristics

Desired Qualifications
• Previous experience supporting a TV network or OTT platform preferred
• Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools, specially Tableau and Power BI
• Advanced knowledge of SQL
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R
• Understanding data warehouse systems such as Snowflake, Spark, AWS
• Experience working with statistical methods and machine learning is a plus
• Strong quantitative skills, including both analytical abilities as well as math proficiency
• Strong communication skills, with capacity to explain technical matter to non-technical peers
• Previous experience working with Latin America is a plus
• Project management experience preferred
• Experience managing a budget and negotiating
