SportsEngine, Inc., an NBC Sports Group company and leading provider of Sport Relationship Management (SRM) software, is hiring a Technical Engineering Manager to lead the Engineers in our Central Division. Our Central Division is composed of two cross-functional product teams responsible for several domains and systems that are core to the SportsEngine platform. As the engineering leader of the Central Division you will have an opportunity to make a significant impact on our customers, our engineers and our business. This role is open to remote applicants. Applicants in the Minneapolis area have the option of working out of our Minneapolis office space. As a Technical Engineering Manager of the Central Division you will...
- Lead 4 to 8 Software Engineers as direct reports while helping to grow their skills and careers.
- Set strategic technical direction of Central Division development efforts in the domains owned by Central including the People, Organizations, Communications and Content domains.
- Align and motivate software engineers as they deliver new working code daily in an agile development environment.
- Coach and mentor software engineers as they write code that is modular, maintainable, performant, testable and secure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team stakeholders such as UX designers, product managers, and software engineers within the Central Division and across the organization to have a significant impact for our end-users.
- Work directly with software engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
- Foster a culture of learning across the Central Division.

Qualifications/Requirements
- 7+ years of professional full-stack or back-end experience building web applications.

- 2+ years of professional experience as an Engineering Manager helping others to learn, improve and grow their careers.

- Effective in a highly collaborative cross functional team environment.

- Exhibit a deep respect for building software sustainably using modern techniques and industry best practices.

Desired Characteristics
- Experience with one or more of the following: Ruby, Rails, SQL, Git, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless, Javascript, Typescript, Angular or similar technologies.

- Experience in a continuous delivery environment.

- Ability to build consensus and a collaborative team environment.

- Experience running regular retrospectives with a focus on effective team collaboration and process improvement.
