Freelance Studio Tech - NBC Sports Washington

Responsibilities

As a Studio Technician the candidate will be responsible for working advanced crew positions including technical directing, audio mixing, tape playback/Dreamcatcher, and Chyron Duet for live daily programming for NBC Sports Washington. The candidate will also work in a variety of crew positions including but not limited to robotic camera operator, video, stage manager, lighting, camera (handheld, ENG, DSLR), etc. as needed.
• Technical directs studio programs for NBC Sports Washington
• Strong knowledge of Sony production switchers (Sony 9000/Sony 6530), working knowledge of Tricaster switcher helpful
• Experience as an Audio Mixer on live productions to include multiple wireless microphones, music playback, integrating remote feeds, utilizing mix-minus
• Tape Playback experience using a controller for multiple server outputs, working knowledge of Dreamcatcher or similar (EVS) helpful
• Working knowledge of robotic camera controls
• Working knowledge of iNews or similar
• Experience with Chyron Duet/Camio is a plus
• Assists producer and/or director in setting up in-studio productions including lighting, placement of cameras, running cables, location of microphones, color balancing of cameras, etc
• Assist in coordination of talkbacks and live shots for various live programs
• Perform other related duties as required. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holiday as necessary

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS degree in related field (equivalent practical experience will be considered)
• Minimum of 3 years television production experience
• Experience with live television news/sports formats strongly desired
• Working knowledge of all studio positions and studio production a plus
• Interest in sports and local teams a plus
• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs
