Responsibilities
Overview:
The Studio Operations Manager is a full-time position leading the Studio's Technical Operations teams focused on the operation of technology solutions including Production Switchers, Control Room Automation, Studio Cameras, Microphones and Audio Consoles and other studio production equipment, to produce sports programming distributed to consumers on a variety of platforms. This position is a critical part of delivering world class support, innovative new technology, enabling operational change and driving smart business solutions. Reporting locally to the VP, Technology & Operations, and working in concert with the Director of Technology, and as a member of the Technology & Operations Leadership Team, the Studio Operations Manager will be the client facing role, responsible for the direct supervision of the studio operations team, overseeing the execution of produced content, both onsite at the San Francisco studios, and at remote studio locations, working collaboratively with Content Partners. Candidate must have experience in managing and developing technical operations staff with a deep understanding of current and emerging technologies across media and entertainment including infrastructure, distribution, live production, studio production, post-production, newsgathering and newsroom systems, media storage and media management.

Job Responsibilities:
• Lead staff and freelance studio production personnel including automation Pilots and Co-Pilots (Studio Directors), Technical Directors, Audio, Studio Camera, Jib and Steadicam Operators, Lighting. Includes all hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation and feedback, compensation evaluation and following up on all employee related needs
• Collaborate with all areas of production and senior management to maximize resources and ensure a quality, seamless production in a changing, fast-paced, live studio environment
• Support studio operations from live control room by acting as a Technical Manager, or as a Studio Director, and for quality control check ins of incoming remote feeds, including but not limited to routing, video processing, aspect ratio conversion / verification, audio and remote communications
• Along with Operations Manager, maintain weekly studio budget and overtime levels. Maintain weekly financial reports as needed
• In collaboration with the Operations Manager, schedule studio team to ensure production needs are met
• Ensure and support consistently high level of technical quality across all productions including but not limited to video, audio, and lighting systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot audio, video, lighting and intercom systems, operate test equipment and clearly communicate technical problems to Technology Partners while maintaining communication with Operations and Content Teams
• Participate as part of the Leadership Team, contribute in leadership meetings and communicate to your team as needed
• Lead team meetings and lead projects as needed
• Perform other related duties as required and special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in a news or sports production studio facility, or similar production environment
• Operational expertise in at least one or more production specialties including studio cameras, audio, control room functions, or directing studio shows
• Candidate must have minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with proven record of developing and supporting high performing teams including writing and delivering performance reviews and setting performance metrics
• Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience, with 5+ years' industry experience preferred

Additional Job Requirements
• Must be willing to work on site in San Francisco or at remote studio locations
• Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours, and on weekends with short notice
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
