Freelance Producer – NBC Sports Washington

Responsibilities

Role Definition

The Producer is a key contributor to the overall content strategy. This role is responsible leading content creation across assigned programs for NBC Sports Washington and its digital media assets. This position will create, oversee and execute unique projects across all platforms and will help to develop and create unique brand experiences for Washington, DC fans.

Responsibilities
• Produce multi-platform live shows, including but not limited to formatting the show, determining storylines, coordinating cut-ins, and writing copy
• Coordinate all live shots during broadcast
• Daily communication with digital assignment desk to produce multi-platform content in pre-production or after the show
• Proactively propose original, timely and innovative content ideas
• Develop contingency plans for breaking stories
• Produce specials, original programming or non-live content as assigned
• Thorough knowledge of local and national sports required
• Proactively search for latest and relevant content around the web and social media platforms
• Ability to produce write, edit and post stories (textual, photos and audio) to our digital properties utilizing a content management system and other digital tools
• Ability to edit and post blogs, articles and videos created by our digital media reporters, on-air talent and players
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS degree in Radio/TV/Film, Communications, or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 4+ years of television experience with producing live shows
• Experience with and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite design programs such as Photoshop and Premiere
• Familiarity with modern web content management systems (Drupal CMS experience a plus)

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
