Job Description

The NBC Sports Next Consumer Technology group is currently seeking a manager of quality assurance to help lead and coordinate the efforts of various teams in creating and maintaining reliable, efficient, and functional software to satisfy our business needs via the usage of test automation frameworks, automation scripts, as well as manual testing. In execution of the key responsibilities of the role, the manager will:

Job Duties
• Manage and lead a team of software engineers specializing in automation and testing
• Manage and lead a team of quality assurance engineers specializing in manual testing and validation
• Add and maintain test automation frameworks
• Add and maintain test automation coverage to improve test efficiency and quality.
• Incorporate and maintain tests and test frameworks in CI / CD pipeline.
• Mentor, lead and guide team members.
• Research and implement new practices, tools and technologies to increase efficiency.
• Manage and lead fulltime local and offshore employees including contractors.
• Inject themselves at any point within the SDLC process, as needed
• Work with product make sure the needs of the business are satisfied and executed as expected
• Work with other QA groups across the organization to share knowledge and best practices

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline.
• 4+ years' experience building test automation scripts and frameworks to include strong knowledge and hands on experience in;
• Coding/scripting with languages like NodeJS, Python, Java, PHP, C#.
• Test automation frameworks like Selenium, Mocha, WebDriverIO.
• Engineering tools like GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Octopus, Docker.
• Productivity tools and their APIs such as JIRA, Teams, Slack.
• Collaborating with local and offshore employees and contractors.
• Agile development methodologies.

Desired Qualifications
• Experienced in managing a team and/ or coaching and developing others.
• Passionate about technology trends and all things related to testing.
• Excited about automation and building tools to help do your job and help the rest of the team.
• A team player as well as a leader with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering against set objectives and within set deadlines.
• Can take initiative to understand and solve issues
