Responsibilities
SportsEngine, Inc., an NBC Sports Group company and leading provider of Sport Relationship Management (SRM) software, is hiring a Content Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team in Minneapolis. As a Content Manager, you will work alongside brand managers to generate story ideas, cultivate relationships, lead editorial meetings, write news and feature stories, and oversee outside contributors. You will work closely with the ad sales team and advertising partners to create unique sponsorship opportunities, consumer engagement stunts and other sales opportunities.
As a member of the Content Marketing team at SportsEngine, you will...
• Manage SportsEngine.com home page and other curated sections on SportsEngine.com
• Post original, partner and curated content daily on SportsEngine.com
• Ensure a continuous feedback loop between our audience and marketing team to improve the visitor's experience with SportsEngine.com
• Work with Brand Managers to keep B2B brand sites up to date with fresh content
• Write 2-3 pieces a month as well as occasional longer features in a fun, clear, SportsEngine friendly voice
• Assign and edit stories to other members of the content team, including freelancers
• Maintain content calendars ensuring topics aligned with broader business goals and initiatives
• Work with the data team to build tracking reports for SportsEngine.com and report stats back weekly to the broader marketing team
• Meet regularly with the brand, social, ad sales teams to identify and develop new content concepts to deliver against the department KPI's
• Oversee freelance writing staff, editorial partnerships, agencies and budgets as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
• 1+ years' of relevent experience
• Strong public speaker and presenter, able to effectively lead meetings, teams, and task-forces
• Experience leveraging customer insights to drive strategy
• Strong planning, organizational and project management skills
• Ability to act as an internal and external advocate for projects, and engage appropriate stakeholders in risk identification and mitigation
• Bachelors degree
Desired Characteristics
• Basic HTML experience
• Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or video editing
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as Drupal, WordPress, etc
• High-achieving, self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere
• Entrepreneurial 'can do' approach with an adaptable, change-oriented mindset
• Highly analytical
