Job Description
Responsibilities

Please Note: This is a project / limited temporary freelance position with an estimated duration of three months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
• Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Facility Engineer is responsible for conducting building maintenance, planning, inspection and functions of the facility and its MEP systems. The position is part of a team that manages multiple buildings within the Stamford and Monroe campuses and will have responsibilities in building field inspection, construction, or design.
• Position will be primarily based in Stamford, CT but will be responsible for working out of Monroe, CT on an as-needed basis. The position will also regularly alternate working out of Monroe, CT with the other facility engineers.

Maintenance
• As facility engineer, you will perform the maintenance required to keep the building and its systems in good working order. These duties will include:
• Utilizing the building management system (BMS) to monitor condition of systems and make environmental adjustments as needed
• Respond to service calls for repairing or installing lamps, lighting systems, kitchen equipment, and power to office spaces, studios, control rooms or data centers
• Monitoring, repairing, and preforming PM on HVAC systems that may include boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, RTU's, and split systems
• Addressing plumbing issues as required
• Aesthetic maintenance such as painting, dry wall, door hardware issues, and snow removal
• Work with outside contractors as necessary
• Keep maintenance logs up to date and ensure PM is being completed on time and in accordance with the PM schedule
• Conduct weekly and monthly EH&S inspections
• Support after-hours and weekend tasks, as needed, on an overtime basis

Qualifications/Requirements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven working knowledge and understanding of:
• HVAC and other facility management system
• Emergency generator plants &UPS system
• Fire pump & fire alarm systems
• Electrical power distribution from 13.8kV to 120v
• Water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, and chilled water distribution
• Proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office
• Familiarity with building management systems (BMS)
• Strong analytical, technical, problem solving
• Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of customer relationships
• Ability to meet strict time frames and deadlines
• Minimum 5 years of related experience

Preferred Education:
• Associate degree, Technical Degree or equivalent /trade school or demonstrated experience in the maintenance, repair of systems and equipment listed above
• Connecticut State contractor license (E or S) or equal

Eligibility Requirements
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and overnight with short notice and be on call 24/7
• Must be willing to work in Monroe, CT and Stamford, CT
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a driver's license
