Job Description
The Director, Sports Programming Finance will report to the VP Finance and work as a part of the National Sports team which includes tentpole properties including Sunday Night Football, NBA, PGA Tour, Premiere League, The US Open, Ryder Cup, and Notre Dame Football. This role will be responsible for the rights management of our major properties and work closely with FP&A, programming and production.
• Programming Finance:
• Ownership of all contracts and rights management, including external communications and reconciliations with league and television partners
• Work cross-functionally with internal finance teams to drive end-to-end financial ownership of sports rights
• Lead internal programming finance processes, including pacing updates (2–3 times per quarter), consolidation of budget and long-range planning forecasts, and conducting variance analysis
• Maintain an up-to-date forecast of Sports Rights and obligations to our league partners
• Act as the finance partner to the Programming and Scheduling teams, responsible for managing and communicating rights changes and scheduling updates to all impacted internal stakeholders across national platforms
• Partner with Business Development as the key finance lead on all rights extensions and partnership deals across linear and digital platforms, with a focus on bid model P&L development and ongoing performance analysis against projections
• Collaborate with senior leaders in Marketing and Programming as a strategic finance partner, aligning cross-brand initiatives (Sports and Entertainment) to optimize budget planning, prioritize spending, and support financial target achievement
• Coordinate with the Controllership team to ensure accurate treatment of rights accounting, including monthly accounting, proper treatment of new and extension contracts, and providing timely support
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
• BA/BS Degree in finance/accounting or related field
• Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in finance/accounting, prior FP&A experience preferred
• Proficient in use of SAP/BW/BPC or similar accounting software
• Proficient in Windows environment; Advanced Excel skills

• Excellent time management skills; ability to meet deadlines on short notice
• Team player with a positive attitude. Role requires frequent collaboration with finance peers as well as counterparts in research, programming, scheduling, ad sales, marketing, etc.
• Role is based in Stamford CT
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the Stamford, CT office a minimum of three days per week.
