Job Description
Responsibilities

As a Director, you are responsible for coordinating the studio operation on and off the air, specifically for Golf Channel Studio shows.

Responsibilities:
• Direct multi-camera live and live-to-tape studio based programs
• Ability to direct News, Talk, Sports and Special Event programs
• Requires a creative eye and the ability to plan and direct the audio and video aspects of television programs based on the specifications and knowledge of television programming techniques
• Interpret scripts, block cameras and work with cast, crew and producers
• Directing live shows without a script especially during breaking news stories
• Establish the pace of the program to stay within the time requirement
• Good working knowledge of video switchers and editing
• Lead the control room and studio technicians before and during any live or live-to-tape program to keep them informed of the show's rundown, camera shots, effects, playback order and other specific commands
• Coordinate technical crew schedules
• Oversee the delivery and execution of all graphic and sponsorship playback elements
• Participation in all production, editorial and technical planning meetings
• Contribute ideas on how to improve all aspects of the production from creative to execution
• Perform on-site surveys for studio remote shows

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors' Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum five (5) years' experience as a Show Director in a live television production environment
• Experience in launching a broadcast or television program
• Proven knowledge and understanding of broadcast and production technology
• Possess strong storytelling skills and editorial judgment

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite - Stamford, Connecticut.
