Creative Manager (Web Design) - SportsEngine, MN/FL - flex location

We are looking for a Creative Manager to be a leader within our in-house creative agency team in Minneapolis, MN, helping to drive expert design and client service for all our enterprise clients and campaigns across the NBC Sports portfolio of digital and consumer brands. *This position can be located in one of our markets in Minneapolis or Orlando.

The Creative Manager for Enterprise Clients will be expected to:
• Expertly handle client communications and lead meetings, providing clear direction and consistent updates on design progress.
• Manage and mentor the internal team of digital designers, as well as our extended team of regular freelance designers
• Provide leadership, vision, and direction for a multi-disciplinary team of creatives across a variety of projects
• Partner closely with the Creative Director and Art Director, as well as the rest of the creative team to accumulate and disseminate best practices
• Partner with the FED Design Manager and client project manager to develop process to ensure the deliver the most efficient and effective technical solutions to our clients
• Oversee the technical production and implementation of websites on the SportsEngine website platform
• Proactively understand, educate, and present to our company and to our clients UX best practices, and emerging web trends
• Develop team momentum through leadership and team empowerment, while promoting and sharing best practices
• Advocate for team health and productivity, develop process and paths for professional growth and development
• Effectively communicate department direction with a high level of trust and integrity
• Build and maintain design consistency across our client-facing technical design solutions

Qualifications/Requirements
• 5+ years in design leadership or equivalent experience
• Expert knowledge in responsive design, website strategy, and UX/UI design principles
• Knowledge of best practices and experience with HTML,
• HTML5, JavaScript and CSS
• Knowledge of best practices and experience with responsive design and content management systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and team leadership skills
• Possess strong organizational and planning skills to make sound decisions within the scope of the project with little oversight needed
• Experience in working with content management systems, web development and/or leading a team of direct reports
• Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration and team building
• Creative approach to problem solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the ''big picture'' view
• Strong written and verbal communication; some light copywriting and editing are preferred qualifications
• Proficiently skilled in Adobe Design Suite - including
• Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as Sketch

Desired Characteristics
• Knowledge of sports-playing, following, industry-a plus
• Should be able to defend ideas, yet acknowledge and recognize when ideas and scopes need to change
• Should be able to easily adapt to priority realignments and project shifts
• Should be self-motivated, highly organized and a collaborative team player
• Should be able to make key design decisions and drive them forward to execute a successful project or campaign
• Works fast and dependably with a keen ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Must be willing to work in Minneapolis, MN or Orlando, FL office
