Responsibilities
Position Overview:
The Broadcast Utility Technician is a full-time, project-based position that is expected to last for one year.
Job Duties:
• Work with technical staff to satisfy production needs for a daily live productions.
• Assist in building and striking the set, studio props and studio elements on a daily basis.
• Pro-actively keep the studio floor safe for all tech traffic, including robotic camera movement as well as for all talent.
• Command and control cable wrangling and camera builds for remote production hits.
• Handle audio equipment facs needs pre and post show as well as mic and IFB various hosts and guests.
• Maintain continuity of all related camera equipment, including studio facs out and tear down at end of day, as well as keeping track of set repair needs and related issues.
• Assist on-screen hosts and guests to facilitate production (as needed)
• Opportunities for robotic and handheld camera work in various broadcast settings.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Communications) or equivalent work experience required
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in TV studio production preferred
• Must be able to lift heavy set pieces and properly transport studio gear in a safe and conscientious manner
• Must be willing to work flexible, non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays

Desired Qualifications
• A1/A2 experience a plus
• Aptitude and desire to continue training at the next technical level
• Serve as fill-in for all other Tech 1 positions as needed (i.e. Robotic Camera, Jib, Playback)
• Familiarity with sports a plus
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills required
• Must be a collaborative team player who works well with others, in a fast paced, dynamic studio environment.
