Job Description

Responsibilities
The NBC News Digital group is seeking a Product Designer who will focus on our evolving suite of editorial tools serving the newsrooms of our core brands NBC News, TODAY & MSNBC. Working closely with the Product Manager for editorial products and stakeholders within the editorial teams, you will play a key role in crafting the experience and the execution of our publishing platforms for web and apps.

What you will do:
• Work closely with the Tools Product Manager on understanding, evolving and prioritizing the roadmap
• Collaborate with the editorial teams in understanding their day to day workflow processes in text, photo and video publishing, developing a holistic view of the newsroom and a keen sense of where to improve efficiencies
• Work with the web and apps Design and Product teams to be in lockstep with the vision, strategy and roadmaps for those end-user focused products
• Help evolve a UX framework and design language that works across our suite of tools
• Design clear user journeys, wireframes and flows, build and test interactive prototypes, document detailed functional requirements
• Participate in thorough critique sessions with product and design leads and peers and present to stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with the engineering teams, communicating with clarity, understanding and bringing a flexible mindset to work within their agile process
• Work with other product and design teams on UX challenges as needed

Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:
• 3+ years' experience in UX design, preferably in content

publishing
• Bachelor of Art/Fine Art Degree with a design focus
• Fluency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
• Experience working within a design system
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Successful experiences shipping digital design products
• Willing to work in New York
• Willing to submit a design portfolio
