National Geographic is looking for a Single Topic Magazines Design Manager! We are looking for a detailed designer that can collaborate with our team!
The Design Manager is responsible for the execution and design of nearly two dozen annual single-topic editions sold exclusively on newsstands. The Design Manager possess outstanding design skills and leads members of graphics, cartography, photography and other special publications departments to plan, shape, design and produce our highest quality issues. The Design Manager has strong conceptual skills and is responsible for creating imaginative solutions, with an eye for sophisticated design, photography and typography as well as a strong background working with single-topic magazines.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the design of newsstand specials
• Participates in determining assignments and its objectives
• Plans, schedules and arranges activities in accomplishing objectives
Basic Qualifications:
• 7+ years total experience, 5 years working with newsstand special issues
Preferred Qualifications:
• The Design Manager possess exceptional design skills with an eye for sophisticated design, photography and typography as well as a strong background working with newsstand specials. Editorial journalism experience
Required Education:
• BA or related education
