Associate Manager, Social Media – Titles (Linear/Streaming/Theatrical) & Special Projects (National Geographic)

At National Geographic, we are seeking an Associate Manager, Social Media – Titles (Linear/Streaming/Theatrical) & Special Projects to assist in overseeing strategic and creative social campaigns for Nat Geo title and editorial pages. In this role you will be responsible for assisting managers and senior managers with title campaigns from production to launch - with best-in-class creative social stunts, community strategies, as well as creative asset development and delivery. Additionally, they'll have an eye towards editorial and always-on social executions.

We are looking for a passionate digital strategist who has experience with social marketing campaigns, agency work [either with or at] and managing busy timelines. Excelling in this role requires a knowledge of what is trending/current on social, a passion for learning about strategy and planning for insights-driven global strategies, a deep and current knowledge of each platform's offerings, how to best utilize influencers, a keen eye for compelling and innovative content and creative and excellent project management skills. You will work with and on key social media and digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Whatsapp, Pinterest and Snapchat as well as seek out emerging platforms that can help grow our fan base and brand.

Responsibilities:
• Partner closely with the marketing team to create high impact social and conversation driving social National Geographic title campaigns.
• Support in management and growth on National Geographic editorial accounts
• Communicate social strategy, campaign voice, and platform strategy through each title's marketing brief.
• Advise on, communicate, and implement best social media practices and cultural landscape as it pertains to the title.
• Evolve tactics throughout each campaign as new data emerges.
• Disseminate campaign reports to stakeholders.
• Support social managers and sr. managers on editorial, magazine and show projects.
• Partnering with the broader marketing title teams on talent social training, onset social capture, live social media event coverage, digital activations and paid media creative, influencer activations etc.
• Work closely with marketing to create high impact moments around title debuts, announcements, press etc.
• Manage creative development of social content through the pipeline including giving creative direction and notes, along with securing final approvals and sign-off.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years of social media marketing experience
• Team-first mentality
• Ability to support multiple campaigns at once.
• Experience creating and/or producing social content.
• Experience with managing projects
• Deep understanding of social platforms
• Creative, proactive, and independent thinking
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong creative writing skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Effective communication skills in both verbal and written form
• Ability to build and manage relationships.
• Extreme attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft outlook, word, excel, keynote and Google suite.
• Experience with social media content management systems
• Experience with social media data and reporting systems

• Experience building and maintaining process workflows and content calendars.

Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
