Job Description
The Brand Marketing Coordinator is a critical member MSNBC's Brand Marketing team in driving multi-platform growth of the MSNBC brand and individual show properties. They will report to the Manager, Brand Marketing and work closely with members of the broader MSNBC Brand team and NBC News & MSNBC Marketing department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the development and execution of topical promotion and cross-platform marketing campaigns for the MSNBC brand, shows, election and breaking news programming, documentaries and digital extensions
• Collaborate with internal Creative, Production and Media teams on
asset creation and delivery
• Maintain an up-to-date library of creative assets and talent photography; coordinate and distribute assets as needed to internal and external partners, including social assets via Greenfly
• Maintain an understanding of marketing priorities and deliverables, including the status of active projects
• Work with partner departments, including Digital, Social, PR, Sales, Programming, Content Distribution, and Peacock to ensure quality in communication of MSNBC and show brands
• Learn and manage the CRM database system, used to communicate with MSNBC newsletter subscribers
• Strategize innovative, non-traditional ways to fuel multi-platform audience growth and brand affinity; focus on gaining and retaining younger consumers
• Be a voracious consumer of MSNBC content; actively identify content to leverage for promotional use
• Monitor multi-platform audience trends with a suite of measurement tools
• Assist with organizing department activities, meetings, and presentations
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Qualifications
• 2+ years professional marketing experience, including marketing or content creation for digital and social platforms OR relevant internships
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, ever-changing news environment
• Exceptional attention to detail
• A mindset that no task is too big or small
• Experience evaluating marketing creative and providing actionable feedback
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Avid consumer of digital and social content
• Self-motivated, creative and solution-oriented
• Passion for politics and strong grasp of news and current events
• Eager to learn and committed to educating oneself on the business and media landscape
• Positive, collaborative attitude
• Ready to work outside standard business hours when necessary, including on weekends
• Bachelor's Degree
• Willing to submit a writing sample
• Willing to work in NYC
