Who are we hiring?
The Performance Coach/Rehab Specialist role will be responsible for assisting with year-long player preparation, development and rehabilitation of NBA and G-League athletes. They will assist in various roles across the strength and performance department including areas such as strength, conditioning, rehabilitation and sports science.
Their main role will be working in the strength and conditioning (S&C) department assisting the S&C staff with player preparation, training, rehabilitation and physical testing protocols during the season, off-season and during pre-draft workouts.
What will you do?
• Assist with player preparation, training, rehabilitation and physical testing protocols during the season, off-season and during pre-draft workouts
• Provide strength and conditioning/rehab coverage during off-season NBA work outs in New York and remote locations as needed
• Provide strength and conditioning/rehab coverage at NBA Summer League/Combine
• Assist with management, programming and delivery of strength, conditioning, rehab and recovery protocols during the NBA season
• Travel as needed with MSG teams to provide strength and conditioning/rehab coverage
• Logging of all relevant data on to the club's online data management systems
• Communicate all key information regarding players health and performance to senior performance staff
• Complete all tasks related to team health and performance as requested by senior performance staff
• Provide sports science support and use various technology to collect and analyze comprehensive team and individual performance data
• Support the use and management of performance science hardware and software
What do you need to s/ucceed?
• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Science, Physical Therapy, Athletic Training or equivalent
• At least 2 years' experience working as a strength and conditioning coach, performance coach, physical therapist or athletic trainer
• Current Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS and RSCC) certifications
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
• Excellent worth ethic and attention to detail
• High proficiency in basic software such as Microsoft Word/Excel
• Ability to connect with medical, performance, technical, equipment, and administration staff.
• Ability to work long/flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays and travel.
• Ability to work and travel within the United States and Canada.
• Ability to travel extensively in the off season.
Pay Range
$135,000 - $135,000 USD
