Summary This position will work with the Analyst – Integrative Sports Performance to develop innovative baseball programs based on biomechanics and sports performance principles. Knowledge gained from the Integrative Sports Performance (ISP) programs aim to integrate into other departments within the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Operations (MBBC) to enhance player performance and evaluation.

• Assist in day-to-day operations of ISP programs in Arizona as it pertains to equipment functionality, data collections, data processing and data analysis.
• Assist in design, development, and implementation of novel research protocols using various applied research technologies to assess and develop elite-level baseball talent.
• Explore MBBC ISP data sets as it pertains to medical, performance, and/or scouting to appropriately integrate ISP data to better assist in identifying potential risk of injury, changes in performance, and identification of future high-level talent.
• Maintain knowledge of current scientific literature with a commitment toward evidence-based protocols to ensure we are adapting properly to new scientific developments.
• Assist in the vetting of new companies / technological advances to ensure that we have the proper tools for evaluating and optimizing player performance.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Knowledge in fields including, but not limited to: Biomechanics, Computer Science, Exercise Physiology, Engineering, Motor Control, Neurophysiology, or Sports Medicine.
• Prior experience pertaining to human performance, strength & conditioning, athletic training, and/or physical therapy.
• Ability to effectively disseminate knowledge to all areas of Baseball Operations.
• General knowledge about baseball preferred.

Computer Skills

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
Other Skills and Abilities

The following skills are desired in the ideal candidate:
• Experience utilizing biomechanical equipment (e.g. Motion Capture, Force Plates, EMG)
• Experience with biomechanical analyses (e.g. Kinetics, Kinematics, Musculoskeletal Modeling)
• Experience with statistical programming for signal processing, data organization, and data analysis (R, Python, etc.).

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud/moderate/quiet.

Work Hours

During Spring training this position requires 60-80 hours per week. During the minor league season this position requires 40-60 hours per week.
