Senior Manager, Scripted Development. International Television Productions

Job Description

MGM Studios is seeking a Senior Manager, Scripted Development for our International TV Productions team to help grow international scripted series content in alignment with the team's vision. The ideal candidate must have a combination of proven story and editorial experience, and a strategic mindset for identifying talent and understanding of the international scripted television landscape.

Responsibilities:
• Implement the creative strategy as defined by senior leadership to grow unique, compelling, and brand-appropriate scripted series content
• Build on existing relationships with producers, agents, writers and help identify new projects and talent for consideration
• Generate, solicit, evaluate, and develop ideas/concepts into scripted series that align with MGM's vision
• Identify and track new, diverse, and interesting voices,
• Manage multiple projects at different stages of development, including interacting with writers and agents
• Collaborate with other departments on various issues through development and production, but always from a story/creative POV.
• Spearhead problem solving and crisis management resolution with studio partners and outside producers on all creative development and production issues
• Lead and mentor junior team members
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• 3-5 years development, story/editorial experience are a must for the position
• Ability to continually generate ideas for scripted TV and develop them to advanced pitch standard
• Proven production experience with a solid understanding of costs, budgets and production schedules, and how they impact creative
• Aware of current TV trends with the ability to generate ideas for new shows
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills are of the highest importance
