Job Description
The Jedi Academy offers a six month placement to graduating students. The Jedi Academy provides the opportunity for graduating artists to learn from highly skilled senior artists in a variety of creative or production disciplines.
In this paid experience, successful applicants will be carefully placed into a discipline and will provide entry-level support to that team. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to gain experience in a live production environment through training, mentorship, and real shot-work experience in a fast-paced and highly collaborative production environment.
Graduates who successfully complete the program may be offered a Junior position within the studio.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Working in a hybrid fast-paced production environment, the Jedi Academy artists work closely with more senior artists and may be responsible for:
• Assisting Senior Artist, Supervisors or Production, to take smaller tasks off their schedules.
• Assist with data migration, ingesting assets, renaming and publishing.
• Delivering simple assets/shot work to a good standard and on schedule.
• Communicate and collaborate with peers.
• Show openness and seek opportunities to be mentored.
• The ability to think logically and break complex issues into smaller tasks/steps when troubleshooting.
Job Requirements
Applicants must have proof of the right / eligibility to work in the UK. We do not provide assistance for relocation, housing, transportation, or work authorisation for the Jedi Academy.
Applicants must have graduated from a relevant course within the last 12 months. This includes all graduating BA's, BSC's, MA's, VFX related short courses and programmes.
Required Skills/Competencies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities is important.
• Good time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Ability to work autonomously and in team settings.
Preferred Skills/Competencies
• Passionate about film and visual effects production and technology.
