THE JOB

We are seeking a goal-oriented, experienced lawyer to manage and perform legal affairs for our dynamic international touring business.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

Subject to being altered from time-to-time to meet the divisions changing needs, responsibilities in this position will include drafting, negotiating and managing numerous entertainment and commercial agreements and issues including:
• artist performance agreements
• touring agreements
• local promoter agreements
• venue agreements
• sponsorship agreements
• ticketing agreements
• production related agreements (staging, lighting, sound, etc)
• media agreements, including in the area of film, broadcast, internet & home video
• merchandise agreements
• insurance documents & issues
• letters of credit and other banking documents
• intellectual property issues
• related tax issues
• related litigation issues
• other various commercial documents and legal issues
• general corporate, employment, real estate and other areas of practice

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Business & Legal Affairs, the successful candidate will have:
• a minimum of 4 years' experience practicing in the entertainment law area with a strong background in sophisticated corporate/commercial transactions;
• a breadth and depth of technical legal knowledge, strong analytical and drafting skills and excellent business judgement;
• excellent interpersonal and client service skills, strong initiative, and ability to work well with a variety of departments;
• experience gained from practicing in a major law firm;
• a strong academic record;
• call to the California Bar.
