LN Venues, Sustainability Operations Manager (Remote)

THE JOB
Live Nation is seeking a Sustainable Operations Manager to support the successful implementation of our Green Nation Charter across US venues, with a primary focus on indoor clubs and theaters. This role will help venues identify the highest-impact operational drivers behind sustainability performance (especially resource recovery, zero waste, energy conservation, and carbon emissions reduction) and will support venues through strategy development, training, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.
While this role begins with a club/theater portfolio focus, it is designed to remain flexible and may support broader sustainability operations initiatives across the organization as priorities evolve.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Zero Waste Operations
• Help indoor venues implement practical, high-performing zero waste systems in pursuit of zero waste to landfill goals
• Support regional- and venue-specific zero waste plans, including material mapping, staffing models, signage/communications, and data reporting and improvement plans
• Partner with other venue departments to educate, train, and streamline venue-wide participation and behavior change
• Create and managing budgets while identifying ROI and revenue opportunities
• Develop playbooks, SOPs, and ''minimum viable standards'' for indoor sustainability operators
Energy Efficiency & Carbon Reduction
• Help translate global emissions reduction goals into implementable venue action plans and strategies
• Design and implement energy and utility data improvement strategies to help venues identify priority energy conservation measures
• Support interdepartmental coordination of site-level opportunities, such as with facilities, IT, and vendors
• Support operator education on energy and carbon reduction to drive measurable behavior change, including impact and progress reports
Additional Responsibilities and Cross-Functional Support
• Maintain and improve tracking systems for sustainability metrics in your venues, including the development of dashboards and scorecards
• Co-develop and deliver virtual trainings, office hours, and working sessions for venue peer groups
• Present progress and priorities effectively to both frontline operators and leadership audiences
Venue Travel
• Conduct venue assessments, audits, training sessions, and support for major initiatives and events
• Travel may include nights and weekends based on show schedules and business needs
• Manage travel logistics responsibly and operate against assigned travel budget
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• 4+ years experience in sustainability operations, greenhouse gas accounting, utility management, zero waste, materials management, or resource recovery in complex environments (venues/events, sports, higher ed, hospitality, government, large facilities, or equivalent)
• Bachelor's degree in subjects such environmental science, engineering, climate change, sustainability or related. Master's degree preferred.
• Demonstrated experience implementing zero waste systems operationally, policies and SOPs, vendor coordination, and process improvement
• Working knowledge of energy efficiency fundamentals and how building operations affect energy use (lighting, HVAC runtime behavior, end-to-end utility management, commissioning, controls concepts, scheduling)
• Strong capability in data management and analysis (Excel/Google Sheets required; Tableau and Airtable dashboard/reporting tools a plus)
• High proficiency in written and verbal communication and ability to present data clearly to mixed audiences
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and stay organized in a remote environment
• Experience supporting clubs, theaters, arenas, festivals, or live events operations
• Ability to travel up to 25%, including occasional nights/weekends
