Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our finance team as a Staff I Accountant. Position is a blend of transactional and entry-level Accounting. This person must be a self motivated individual with the ability to multitask. This is a full-time hourly position of 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing various financial reports, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounting processes. This entry-level position is ideal for someone
with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a desire to grow their career in the field.

Please note: This is a fixed-term contract of 3 months with the possibility of converting to full-time. You will be expected to work 40 hours a week every week during the duration of the contract.

Essential Functions:
• Responsible for processing A/P invoices and wires
• Enter manual checks and wires into Oracle
• Create project numbers for new events in Oracle
• Complete vendor set ups
• Assistance with monthly accounting close including but not limited to; account reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation
• Create credit card manifests
• Reconcile petty cash
• Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities:

1. General Ledger Maintenance:
• Assist in the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Record journal entries and adjustments accurately and in a timely manner.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
• Process and review accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of vendor and customer invoices.
3. Financial Reporting:
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in analyzing financial data for discrepancies and trends.
4. Bank Reconciliation:
• Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve any variances in a timely manner.
5. Expense Tracking:
• Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Work with teams to ensure proper coding and documentation of expenses.
6. Assist in Audit Processes:
• Provide support during internal and external audits.
• Prepare documentation and explanations as requested by auditors.
7. Financial Analysis Support:
• Assist in conducting financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Provide data and reports as required for budgeting and forecasting.
8. Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards.
9. Process Improvement:
• Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency within the accounting function.
• Participate in implementing improvements as directed.
10. Ad-hoc Projects:
• Contribute to special projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Collaborate with team members on various finance-related tasks.
Qualifications:
• Associate's Degree and/or Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Entry-level candidates or those with up to 1 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Certain periods in the month (accounting close, period with many shows) may require overtime
• Calm / Professional and customer service-oriented demeanor.
• Ability to be a self-starter and uses down time effectively to support department.
• The ability to independently manage your time, prioritize tasks to meet directed deadlines, and
handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to make clear concise decisions, often with limited supervision.
• Computer literate on Apple / Mac and PC.
Preferred:
• Oracle and Inspyrus experience a plus
• Previous experience with cash handling in a high-volume facility
