THE JOB:

In the role of Software Engineer, you'll participate in the development and delivery of our global Consumer Platform which drives over 10 billion dollars of revenue annually. You will be accountable for delivering high quality, maintainable and performant solutions. You must think about solving complex technical problems and the long-term maintenance and cost of change of software solutions.

You will take the initiative, solve problems, and eliminate roadblocks. You will work under general supervision with limited day-to-day direction. Actively participating in overall solution and architectural design. The software you create helps Ticketmaster be more efficient and provide a high level of service excellence so we can remain the number one ticketing company in the world.

You will emphasise collaboration and mutual support – sharing project workflow with globally distributed teams, contributing code to core global services and applications, and cultural exchange between development groups. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Contribute to a public API service that powers the Ticketmaster site across all markets.
• Participate in development work across globally distributed software teams.
• Actively participate in gathering and validating technical requirements for the project by connecting with a series of stakeholders (UX / Design / Product / PMO…etc.).
• Write well-designed, efficient code with unit tests, logging and comments; Refactor code where needed.
• Resolve problems as they occur and have advanced troubleshooting techniques.
• Automate testing, deployments, performance, and recovery.
• Focus on building software, keeping in mind the main principles of performance, flexibility, and platform scalability.
• Typically assigned to important / complicated undertakings.
• Maintain and adopt code standards, patterns and best practices through pairing and code reviews.
• Seek opportunities to try out new ideas and solutions.
• Implements activities that generally impact important components / processes of the work of own unit / team / projects.
• Monitor logs and identify issues.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
• Java 11 programming language experience or of other JVM languages
• Experience with modern frameworks such as Springboot
• Test-Driven Development experience
• Understanding of Continuous Integration practices
• Previous experience with Design Patterns and SOLID principles
• Proven experience of backend development skills
• Experience working with Microservices
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes or other orchestration/scheduling framework
• Working knowledge of one or more database products (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with remote team members
• Experience with Agile methodologies

Nice to have
• Experience with Reactive/Asynchronous/Non-Blocking programming
• Experience working with AWS or other Cloud Provider
• Familiarity with CI/CD servers (Gitlab/Jenkins)
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Graphana, ELK stack
• Familiarity with Terraform
• Ability to clearly communicate technical topics to non-technical people
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
