The Marketing Insights and Data Analytics Services team within the Marketing & Data Strategy organization works on projects across all divisions, to develop insights around Fans and Marketing programs. These insights are used to inspire new marketing programs and improve existing marketing efforts across Concerts, Ticketmaster, and Sponsorship business units. We are also responsible for quantifying the value of our marketing efforts through our test and learn program, incrementality testing and attribution thought leadership.

THE ROLE
The Senior Marketing Data Analyst will both empower our internal clients with self-service dashboards and enhance our insights by providing deep dive analyses and ad hoc analyses. This person will be leading the lifecycle of analytics dashboards, including business requirements gathering, functional specification write-ups, prototyping, development, quality testing, user acceptance testing, roll-out and post-launch improvement implementation. They will also support ad hoc analyses that require advanced query building to pull data from multiple tables and multiple databases.

The Senior Marketing Data Analyst will be an expert in the data sets we have available to understand the performance and quantify the impact of our marketing efforts. This includes paid media, SEM, SEO, and CRM marketing data as well as web site and mobile app traffic and conversion data. This collaborative role will act as a data consultant to marketing strategists and business unit leads to not only answer questions but to uncover deeper learnings and insights by recommending innovative ways to look at data.

The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and collaborative. They are focused on driving insights - pulling data, building dashboards, and creating recommendations. This person will report to the VP of Analytics.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Perform advanced, exploratory, and ad hoc analysis on diverse data sets
• Determine the immediate and long-term impacts of changes in metrics on marketing KPIs (e.g., ROAS, ROI, CAC)
• Synthesize insights into clear, incisive insights and recommendations that drive business results
• Pull marketing performance data from data warehouses and data lake and summarize into reporting platforms (e.g. Domo, Tableau), Excel or PowerPoint for broader consumption
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their objectives, gather their requirements, and develop dashboards to empower channel and business leads to discover actionable insights
• Consult with marketing strategists, planners and business unit leads to advise on KPIs, tracking, analytics and reporting
• Document user requirements for new dashboards, data and metrics, providing use cases and value to the business
• Work with engineers, business analysts, data scientists and product owners to collect and expose new data and metrics within data warehouses and reporting platforms
• Drive scalability and automation for on-going requests and emerging analytics needs

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING:

​Required:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Computer Science, Marketing Science, Marketing Analytics or similar field
• 3+ years of work experience in analyzing large data sets to successfully drive conclusions, preferably working with marketing data
• 2+ years crafting and developing business intelligence dashboards using any BI tools
• Able to write and run complex SQL queries to pull data required across multiple tables
• Prior experience in relational databases required
• Experience creating dashboards, authoring reporting and troubleshooting BI reporting and dashboard platforms such as DOMO, Tableau or similar tool
• Experience incorporating complex data sets from different data sources, such as our database, redshift clusters and other API's into BI reporting and dashboard platforms
• Expertise in MS Excel – lookups, pivot tables, dynamic charts and tables required
• Experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling and building data pipelines
• Ability to translate complicated analyses into plain language, both in speaking and writing
• Ensure quality of data and accuracy of downstream reporting through precise attention to detail
• Collaborate with programmers, engineers and business analysts to test, clean, and standardize data to meet the business requirements
• Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
• COVID-19 vaccination will be required for this position subject to legally valid exemptions

Desired:
• Familiarity with a broad set of topics and subject areas within marketing analytics (e.g. campaign attribution/effectiveness, web tracking, customer lifecycle marketing)
• Experience analyzing clickstream and conversion data (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, AppsFlyer)
• Experience analyzing Digital Marketing performance (search, email, social, programmatic display, etc.)
• Experience working in Entertainment industry
• Knowledge of statistics
• Experience with DOMO is a plus
