THE JOB
The Senior Software Engineer will lead the development, deployment and technical lifecycle of the Promoted Ads self-service application. The role will work closely with Product and Design to scope future enhancements, features and functionality.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the TM Promoted product, working across data pipelines, backend systems, and cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and data integrity.
• Design and develop the TM Promoted platform and integration solutions for various features and functionality.
• Work closely with the Engineering Manager, contractors, and cross-functional teams to identify data requirements, define data models, and develop scalable solutions to support our growing data needs.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate infrastructure performance and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies and implement appropriate access controls and data governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that data infrastructure supports their analytical needs and requirements.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data systems and processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data platform issues.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development or data engineering, ideally using Python.
• Proficiency in Python and experience building backend applications using Flask, Fastapi, or similar.
• Experience working with cloud services, especially AWS. Experience with Databricks is a strong plus.
• Solid understanding of designing and maintaining ETL pipelines and data workflows.
• Comfortable working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with DevOps or cloud infrastructure practices (e.g., CI/CD, monitoring, infrastructure as code).
• Bonus if you've worked in more than one of the following areas: Data Engineering, DevOps, Full Stack, Machine Learning, or Cloud Development.
• Certification in AWS or Databricks is a nice to have.
• Familiar with Git and general Agile development practices.
• Experience with MLflow, Kafka, or containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus but not required.
• Prior exposure to Meta or Google APIs is a bonus.
• Experience working in ecommerce, marketplaces, or retail industries is a plus.
• Understanding of data privacy, security, and responsible handling of production data.

The expected compensation for this position is:
$140-150K
