Manager, Marketplace Strategy & Operations (NFL, NCAA)

THE TEAM

The Marketplace Strategy & Operations team (also referred to as Category Management) owns and drives the revenue and profit performance across the professional and college sports, arts/theatre, and concerts marketplace categories. The team is responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies, optimizing critical business levers, driving high-impact initiatives, and tracking overall performance for owned categories with the ultimate goal of driving market share growth and millions of dollars in incremental ticket sales.

THE JOB

The Manager will report to the Director, Category Management – Pro & Collegiate Sports, and will be responsible for supporting strategic planning, initiative execution, and performance reporting for the NFL and NCAA categories. The Manager will be responsible for collecting, cleansing/structuring and analyzing data from a variety of sources to help manage business performance and drive actionable insights on both sides of Ticketmaster's marketplace (supply & demand). In addition, this role will support building and executing annual commercial plans for owned categories focused on sales and market share growth. This individual will gain a detailed understanding of the ticketing/live event industry and Ticketmaster's marketplace business while working cross-functionally and utilizing business intelligence tools to share critical analyses that will drive measurable operational and top-line performance improvement. The ideal candidate will be analytically driven, with strong problem-solving skills, a high degree of business acumen, and the ability to work with and influence a variety of individuals, both internally and externally, at all levels of an organization.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Be a subject matter expert for the NFL and NCAA marketplace categories at Ticketmaster. This includes knowing the key drivers of supply/demand, understanding the nuances and organizational processes that are unique to your categories, understanding the fan profile, and mastering category level data.
• Build, track, and monitor category performance dashboards, updates, and KPI's to continuously share results with leadership, identify and rectify performance issues, and identify new opportunities
• Perform complex analysis and then craft appropriate stories/presentations based on that analysis to communicate findings and influence both internal and external stakeholders
• Support or lead the development and execution of data-driven, fan-centric, commercial growth plans for your categories. Then, share these plans with other teams within the organization (marketing, operations, product etc.) and work to execute
• Develop, contextualize, and structure day-to-day business opportunities with varying levels of complexity. Drive insights and clear next steps from output.
• Attend and actively participate in weekly operational meetings to ensure cross-functional alignment on category priorities

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
• Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or economics
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a consulting, strategy, or comparable analytics-heavy environment. Experience in e-commerce, technology, or entertainment/media is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading multiple projects with demanding deadlines, changing/ambiguous requirements, and cross-functional interaction
• A decisive project leader, with the ability to push a project forward, draw key insights from analysis, and determine recommendations and next steps
• Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to understand the economic drivers behind a variety of business models and to synthesize complex commercial data into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated success in verbal and written communication with expertise in adjusting approach based on audience or setting
• Minimum of 3 years of experience using Excel and building PowerPoint presentations for both internal and external audiences at multiple organizational levels. Experience with Domo, Tableau, or another BI tool is a plus
• Knowledge of, or an interest in, the NFL and college sports is a plus
• Desire to help create a fun, productive, and inclusive culture
