Job Description
THE JOBFor the 2023 concert season, the Event Operations Student Program at the Xfinity Center will aim to give students pursuing a career in venue operations a wide range of knowledge within all Front of House departments that are necessary for the successful operations of a venue during a concert event through direct work experience, training, and professional mentorship. This unique opportunity will allow students to gain first-hand experience working within ALL venue departments which will help in their understand of overall venue operations and evet management.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Throughout the course of the 2023 season, the students involved in this program will rotate through each department on a cycle of 5 shows at a time. After the students have worked in each department, they will get to choose where they would like to work for the remainder of the season or have the opportunity to fill in working departments based on need. For example, the schedule may look as follows (subject to change):
• 5 shows: Security/Event Staff
• 5 shows: Ushers/Ticket Takers
• 5 shows: Night of Show Sales and VIP
• 5 shows: Parking
• 5 shows: Guest Services, First Aid, Guest Ambassadors
• 5 shows: Sustainability, Cleaning, Maintenance
• 10 shows: Student Choice
Prior to each rotation, the students will have a 1-hour to 2-hour training session with a supervisor from each of the departments where they will learn the importance and role of each department during an event and have the opportunity to ask questions. These students will report to a venue Coordinator who will act as a mentor and be a resource for them and help them guide through their transition from department to department.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• Must be currently enrolled in a business, sports, entertainment, event management, or related program or recent college graduate actively pursuing a career in the event industry.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work at least 75% of shows (approximately 30 shows)
• Must work at least 5 shows in each ''rotation''. For example, if you cannot work one of the 5 shows of the security rotation, you can make up for that show during one of the 10 student choice shows.
• Attend and complete all necessary orientations and online training
• Take direction from and report to various Managers and Supervisors
• Adhere to all Live Nation policies and procedures that apply for regular seasonal employees to best show safety, care, encore, and efficiency towards our guests, fellow Crew Members, and students in this program.
