THE TEAM
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Engineer 3 to join our Maps Platform team.
THE JOB
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has deep technical expertise in cloud-native architectures, and is passionate about building scalable, high-performance Infrastructure. You will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and supporting our team, while also mentoring teams and collaborating across global business units.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Design and build Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Review code and provide feedback to peers to maintain consistency, improve performance, and support team learning.
• Contribute to system architecture and design discussions to ensure scalability, performance, and alignment with long-term goals.
• Identify and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
• Document technical decisions and processes to promote knowledge sharing and ensure maintainability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub to automate builds, tests, and deployments.
• Coordinate with security teams to ensure infrastructure is reliable, secure, and scalable.
• Engage with cross-functional teams, including QA and Product, to align technical execution with business goals.
• Improve infrastructure efficiency and reduce cloud costs through continuous optimizations.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Linux system administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes deployments using Helm and Kubectl.
• Hands-on experience with AWS deployments using terraform.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including VPC, IAM, EC2, Auto Scaling, Launch Templates, S3, SES, SNS, Elasticache (Redis), Lambda and ALB.
• Experience with Splunk for centralized log management.
• Strong networking troubleshooting skills.
• Scripting experience in Bash and Python.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Experience with CDN services such as CloudFront or Fastly.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and deployment automation.
• Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI.
• Proficient with version control systems, primarily Git, and collaborative workflows such as pull requests and code reviews.
• Experience working in Agile environments, using tools like Jira for project management.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on proactive and scalable solutions.
