About the role:
Are you ready to take the next step in your cybersecurity career? We're seeking a motivated and collaborative Cyber Operations Director to lead Live Nations APAC Cyber Operations team. In this role, you'll oversee cyber threat intelligence, detection engineering, incident response, and SOC functions, helping strengthen our resilience against emerging cyber threats.
This is a fully remote role, open to candidates based anywhere in Australia, where technical expertise meets leadership.You'll play a key part in managing daily operations, guiding the team through critical incidents, and building strong connections across both technical and business stakeholders. Just as importantly, you'll contribute to the growth and development of a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and collaboration.

What you'll be doing:
• Lead multidisciplinary teams: Coordinate cyber threat intelligence, SOC, incident response, and detection engineering functions across APAC.
• Guide incident response: Act as Incident Commander during major events, ensuring timely and effective action.
• Manage daily operations: Balance workloads, maintain service levels, and optimise scheduling across the team.
• Support team development: Provide coaching, feedback, and opportunities for technical and career growth.
• Communicate strategically: Present risks and insights clearly to executives and business partners.
• Use data for improvement: Monitor KPIs and metrics to refine processes and align with business priorities.
• Plan ahead: Set quarterly objectives, allocate resources, and prioritise based on the APAC threat landscape.
• Collaborate across functions: Work closely with security and business units on tooling, integrations, and initiatives.
What you'll bring:
• Strong cyber background: Typically 8+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years in leadership, or a combination of experience, education, and certifications.
• Proven expertise: Experience in SOC operations, incident response, threat intelligence, and/or detection engineering.
• Knowledge of tools and frameworks: Familiar with SIEM, EDR, NDR, cloud environments, and standards such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001.
• Calm communicator: Able to make clear, confident decisions and explain complex issues under pressure.
• Strategic thinker: Skilled at aligning technical priorities with business goals and driving measurable outcomes.
• Team-focused leader: Encourages accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Growth mindset: Committed to learning and evolving alongside an ever-changing cyber landscape.
• Education: A degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security , Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Certifications: Industry certifications such as CISSP, GIAC ( GSE , GCIH, GCIA, GCFA , GDSA GCTI ) OSCP, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert.
