Job Description
Summary of Position

Lionsgate is a leading entertainment company, dedicated to creating captivating and innovative content for global audiences. We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient rising star to fill the role of Vice President of Analytics. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the analytics strategy for our movie studio, driving data-informed decision-making and managing a hybrid on-shore/off-shore team.

As the Vice President of Analytics, you will partner closely with the SVP, Data Science & Analytics on transforming the studio's use of data in decisions across the business. You will primarily leverage descriptive, diagnostic, and some predictive analytics to help answer timely business questions, improve visualizations, and power automated tools.

This is a great opportunity for a collaborative learner and critical thinker who is looking for their work to make an impact on how movies are made and released. The ideal candidate possesses an equal amount of analytical rigor and flexibility in communication and working styles -- and is someone who regularly geeks out on new data, new technologies and new tools while maintaining focus on the priorities of the business.

Responsibilities

Strategic Analytics Leadership:
• Support in the development of Motion Picture Group strategic plans and learning agendas, identifying where analytics can be of service.

• Create and implement an analytics roadmap that prioritizes delivering analyses for the Motion Picture Group, ensuring the highest value impact on business goals and key initiatives.

• Create and apply a method of evaluating ROI of analytics initiatives, with a focus on application of learnings and potential impact to the Motion Picture Group.

• Ongoing analyses of future and current product to help evaluate potential success and mitigate risks.

Collaboration and Cross-functional Partnerships:
• Engage with stakeholders across the Motion Picture Group to understand over-arching business and creative questions. Steer discovery conversations to get to the underlying assumptions, biases and unknowns. Translate findings into analytics questions.

• Develop and implement analytics solutions that directly address these questions, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making.

• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders clearly and confidently, adapting the delivery of the message to speak to different audiences while remaining consistent on the message itself.

Team & Project Management:
• Lead a hybrid on-shore/offshore team of analysts and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Define and proactively manage internal and external analytics projects. Share project expectations, updates and timelines with stakeholders across the organization.

Dashboarding and Reporting:
• Partner closely with the data & engineering team on the development and maintenance of dashboards and reporting tools that provide real-time insights into key performance indicators.

• Ensure that back-end calculations in dashboards are business critical and accurate and required data sources are on the roadmap for ingestion.

• Assess department prepared reports currently delivered on a standing basis. Reimagine, automate or eliminate low-impact work and make room for higher-value deliverables.

Qualifications and Skills
• MS degree in Statistics, Analytics, Applied Mathematics or Data Science or equivalent practical experience

• 7-8+ years of experience in analytics or a related field

• Direct experience:

• Working and/or supervising others in R, Python, SQL, AWS, Spark and Tableau

• Building BI tools and teams to visualize data for non-technical audiences

• Running root cause analysis, correlation analysis, trend analysis, hypothesis testing and sales forecasting

• Familiarity and interest in machine learning frameworks and data manipulation libraries

• Proven ability to manage a team and deliver tangible insights and learnings for a fast-paced business

• Familiarity with the entertainment industry, specifically movie industry data sources and marketing performance metrics
