Job Summary/Description:
KY3 in Springfield, MO is looking for an experienced creative and dynamic marketing manager to join the news team. This person will be the driving force behind captivating on-air and digital promotions that inform, engage and inspire. Must have a knack for emotionally connecting with audiences. Must be an exceptional writer, video photographer, editor and know audio and lighting well. You will shape the news, weather and sports image campaigns, proof of brand spots, as well as daily topical, digital and social media posts. This person will strengthen community connections with public service campaigns. This station values creativity and innovation. Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to:
- Work with the news director to execute creative brand concepts for all media platforms; plan and execute a daily, monthly and yearly marketing plan. Help protect the brand, logo and station graphics
- Write, shoot and edit long-form and short-form news, sports and weather promotional content for all news platforms (on-air, digital, social media)
- Work closely with reporters and news management team on story development and promotional scripts for breaking news and weather, daily news and special reports
- Create marketing posts (including video) for social media sites; interact with/respond to audiences on those platforms including but not limited to: Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local non-profits and community partners. Help write, shoot and edit public service announcements for local non-profit organizations
- Serve as lead project coordinator for major KY3 community public service events, including but not limited to: Children's Miracle Network, St. Jude Dream Home, weather tours, and other special projects
- Take charge of local and network programming awareness
- Train to effectively schedule promotions
- Analyze rundowns to coordinate the best on-air, social, and digital marketing materials
- Provide ideas on how to optimize platform growth
- Create and maintain videos (on-air and digital) about KY3 and the Ozarks for potential employees
- Coordinate approved contests for marketing initiatives
- Help create graphics and animations to be used in promotions
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in news, marketing and promotions
- Comply with Legal and Compliance guidelines as they relate to television and events
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, film/video/audio production or a related field
- 2-3 years' experience in a related field with marketing or promotions expertise is a plus
- Have extensive knowledge of studio and field production processes
- Experience working with cameras, audio, lighting and be exceptional at writing, shooting and editing marketing materials for all platforms
- Superb attention to detail, time management skills, and strong communication skills
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- High level of creativity, ability to think ''outside the box''
- Strong Brand management focus
- Be highly motivated with a positive attitude and be passionate about marketing
- Aggressive at executing content during breaking news
- Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop are a plus
- Social media engagement experience is a must
- Self-starter with ability to make quick decisions in a multiple deadline driven environment
- Able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds
- WideOrbit Traffic knowledge is a plus
- Able to work a flexible schedule including some holidays, nights and weekends as needed for shoots and station events
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits
- Other duties as assigned
**Must provide a creative reel demonstrating knowledge of video production
