Job Summary/Description:
KVVU TV is looking for an individual with Broadcasting Technical, IT, or Operations experience to become an IT and Broadcast engineer. Duties include troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing studio and editing equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
• ️ Installation and repair of all associated broadcast equipment.
• ️ Use test equipment to troubleshoot audio and video issues.
• ️ Monitor and/or maintain quality control standards. Understand information taken from test equipment and determine the appropriate action.
• ️ Able to read and decipher schematic drawings and interpolate the information.
• ️ IT Duties, including maintenance and repair of computers, servers, networking equipment, etc.
• ️ Capable of working odd hours: morning, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• ️ Maybe on call for after-hours support.
• ️ Support all aspects of Breaking News Gathering, at a moment's notice.
• ️ A Team player, but also a self-starter able to work alone.
• ️ Assist with facilities maintenance, including HVAC, Electrical, and security systems.
• ️ Able to lift 50 lbs.
• ️ Other duties as assigned by Technology management.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• ️ Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• ️ Have a working knowledge of video/audio systems and IP-based broadcast technology.
• ️ Have a working knowledge of News and Television Automation systems.
• ️ Have a basic understanding of RF and microwave systems.
• ️ Have customer-focused problem-solving abilities.
• ️ Must be self-motivated and able to see projects through to the end.
• ️ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• ️ Oral and written communication skills mandatory.
• ️ SBE and/or IT certifications a plus.
• ️ Web development or custom programming knowledge a plus.
