Operations Technician

Job Description

KOMO TV is seeking an Operations Technician. This position provides plenty of opportunity for career growth in Broadcast Operations. Basic duties include floor directing, teleprompter operation, studio preparation, and and a desire to learn automation technology used to direct newscasts. Requirment include a strong desire for personal growth, ability to work nights and weekends, and the ability to work under fast paced environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Perform any production duties as assigned including:
• Floor direct assigned newscasts and production.
• Teleprompter operation for assigned newscasts and productions.
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.
• Develop coding skills pertaining to Ross overdrive automation, with the eventual goal of directing live production.
• Preparation and operation of technical equipment used in the studio and control room (before, during and after live newscasts).
• Support the production of newscasts and other live or taped programming for television and multiplatform use.
• Other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate will have the following experience:
• Expereince directing newscasts knowledge of production standards and equipment. Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure.
• Typing and good spelling neccessary.
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred.
