Job Summary/Description:

The KOLD Engineering team is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining all of the critical broadcast equipment at the TV Station as well as a Translator site on Tucson Mountain and a Transmitter Site on Mt. Bigelow, and we also play a critical role in supporting each department at our station in their day to day operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Broadcast UHF and microwave transmitter maintenance, operation and repair
- Installation, maintenance and repair of all broadcast systems and subsystems within the television station
- Installation, maintenance and repair of all broadcast systems within the transmitter/translator facilities
- Supporting all departments via ''Gray Helpdesk Trouble Ticket System''
- Facility maintenance
- Broadcast system project planning, implementation, and documentation
- End-user desktop support and proficiency with Windows and MAC OS, various television systems software and networking systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving on air impacting events

Qualifications/Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience in working with MPEG Transport Compression. (Decode/Encode/Multiplexing)
- At least 2 years experience in working with high power Radio Frequency systems. (SATCOM, Earth Stations, VHF/UHF Transmitters)
- At least 2 years experience in dealing with broadcast signal standards. SDI, ASI, TCP/IP, L-Band, Analog/Digital Audio
- Ability to read technical drawings and produce technical drawings using Microsoft Visio
- Basic Networking Structure - TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VLAN, Sub netting, OSI
- Cable Fabrication Techniques
- Familiarity with Video/Audio Routers
- Any past experience with Gray TV's ''TMP'' (Technical Media Producer) workflow is a plus
- Candidate must have a valid driver's license; ability to lift 50 lbs; ability to climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces
- This position will require flexible work hours and possibly some holidays
