Job Description

KOBI-TV in Medford, OR, seeks a talented part-time AM News Editor / Assistant Director to support our Sunrise news team. An ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital videography and editing. Proficiency with a newsroom computer system, directing, and social media experience is a plus – but not required.

Job duties include:

· Editing videos for newscasts

· Operating newsroom cameras

· Directing newscasts

· Bringing in remote feeds from bureaus and other sources

· Completing other duties as assigned

Preferred (but not required) qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Digital videography and editing experience

· Experience operating video and sound equipment

· Hands-on news production and broadcast equipment operation.

Required qualifications:

· Experience working with Adobe Premiere or equivalent editing software

· The ability to handle several assignments simultaneously under deadline pressure.

The FCC licenses KOBI-TV NBC5; therefore, we must follow federal guidelines. Since marijuana is still illegal on a federal level, if offered a position, a candidate must pass a 10-panel drug screen, including marijuana. A 3-year driving record check and a 7-year criminal background check are also pre-employment requirements. A valid driver’s license is also required.

Salary Details
Salary Range: $17.25 to $19.00 Per Hour ($ USD)
