Job Description
Operations Technician PT

KCRA has an opening for a part-time Broadcast Operations Technician. The Operations Technician operates the equipment required to acquire and distribute on-air video and audio. This position supports all station efforts in-house and on remote location. In-person attendance is required.

Job Responsibilities:
• Learn and operate our prompters.
• Learn and perform studio operations like dressing microphones and IFB's for on camera appearances.
• Moving and handling of props and sets during in-house and on-location productions (this could mean assisting in moving heavy equipment).
• Maintain appearance of studios including cleaning of set and floors.
• Learn and operate our lighting grid and control board (this could mean climbing ladders to adjust lighting).
• Basic multi-media computer skill and familiarity with current internet technology and computer use.
• Assist with promotional effort at station-sponsored community events as assigned.
• Learn and work in complex technical positions like Audio, Master Control, Air Support, and Technical Directing.
• Other duties as assigned by Engineering management after proper training.

Requirements:
• Background in operation of broadcast television systems and equipment preferred.
• Experience with Master Control Operations including Automation, Studio Robotics Systems, Video Servers, Content Acquisition and Preparation, Audio/Video Console Operation, are highly valued but can be taught to the right candidate.
• Flexibility to work various days and shifts to cover gaps in scheduling as needed.
• Ability to work effectively with a team of like-minded professionals is a must.
• Ability to perform with accuracy while under pressure is a must.

Experience:
• Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience.
• Military training and experience will be considered.
• Regardless of prior experience you must be willing and capable of learning our unique systems inside reasonable time windows.
