Job Description
KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa, has an opening for a full-time Studio Camera Operator who is a self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized team player with strong interpersonal skills and who works well under pressure. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of broadcast production operations. This position has the potential to expand to include operating control room automation for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the operation of robotic television cameras for a live broadcast.
• Interact with directors, producers, and talent & must always remain focused.
• Operate television studio cameras in a live production setting.
• Operate studio lights.
• Punctual attendance for shifts that can start as early as 3 am.
• Work weekends and holidays, as necessary, in support of our 24/7 broadcast operations.
• In-person attendance is required.

Experience Requirements:
• Experience operating professional video cameras in live production.
• Experience using Windows-based computer software.
• Equivalent military or college-level experience will be considered.

Qualifications:
• Knowledge of robotic camera operation is highly desirable.
• The ability to rapidly respond properly to unexpected on-air issues is critical.
• Must be an effective communicator and team player. The ability to work cooperatively with others in stressful situations is a must.
• Ability to follow instructions quickly and accurately, with attention to detail.
• Can work flexible hours and shifts including holidays and weekends.
• Be able to maneuver a non-robotic camera pedestal into exact positions quickly and precisely.
