Job Summary/Description:

KBTX is looking for an IT Engineer for our television station in Bryan, TX. This is a fast-paced, forward-thinking, fun-having operation with plenty of room to grow and learn new things. This position is responsible for all areas of end-user support, including building and maintaining Windows desktops and laptops, managing servers, printers, backups, end-user applications, basic IP networking skills, cabling, and all other related systems and equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Provide all areas of desktop client support for local and remote employees
• Build and manage Windows desktops and laptops
• Configure and support various broadcast and workflow-specific applications across various departments
• Build and manage Windows servers, file shares, backups, and plans for disaster recovery
• Build and manage Virtual Infrastructure such as VMWare hypervisors
• Manage local Active Directory user accounts, passwords, and access to local resources
• Set up work areas, including docking stations, monitors, and printers
• Install and support Microsoft Office and other client applications
• Work with Corporate IT to support local employees use of company applications
• Maintain and manage station IP data network
• Work with Corporate IT to administer, install, and troubleshoot core network equipment, including routers, firewalls and switch stacks
• Work with broadcast engineers and newsroom to support all broadcast automation systems
• Maintain station phone system and voicemail, to include add/remove employees
• Process trouble tickets in the company helpdesk system
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned
• Knowledge of RF Transmission Systems, Microwave Systems is a plus
• Knowledge of ASI, and SDI Encoding and Decoding Systems is a plus

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Associate degree in Electronics or Computer Science, or equivalent training and/or experience
• Two years of experience maintaining technical equipment in a television broadcast or post-production facility preferred
• Must possess a positive work attitude, a strong work ethic, and ability to work well with others
• Ability to prioritize and make changes to work plans without loss of efficiency or composure all while managing multiple projects
• Ability to communicate efficiently with varying disciplines and personalities
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to articulate the troubleshooting process to peers
• Strong IT knowledge of computer networking, hardware and software maintenance, and virtual computing platforms is required
• Comprehensive understanding of production workflows in television – operational familiarity with multiple NRCS, NLE, and automation platforms
• Desire to learn and evaluate new technologies, systems, and workflows
• Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule to include overnights, weekends, holidays, and on-call in support of a 24x7x365 Broadcast operation
• Ability to travel to remote broadcast sites, as needed
• Must be able to install and remove rack mounted equipment weighing 25-50 pounds with the help of another employee
• Must have a clean driving record
