Job Summary/Description:
Northern News Now is looking for a full-time Master Control Operator who is responsible for monitoring the quality and accuracy of our on-air signals as well as ensuring the transmission meets government regulations and the station's high standards.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Monitor multiple TV channels for on-air signals and quality control
• Perform on-air switching for live events
• Operate recording hardware, satellite receivers, and computer-based systems
• Prepare and check material for on-air playback via automation system
• Verify all material airing by referencing program logs
• Monitor transmitter and tower lights accurately to meet FCC regulations
• Anticipate and troubleshoot issues when they occur
• Ability to make fast and accurate judgments
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• High School Diploma required
• College production courses preferred
• Previous experience with production or Master Control preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Computer literate and technically oriented
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Minimal Travel Required
