KARK-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas is seeking a Producer for a brand-new lifestyle show launching in 2022. This is a unique opportunity to help build something new from the ground up.
The Producer will be responsible for preparing the rundown, timing show, booking guests, planning show content, developing franchise segments, and working with our sales team on sponsored content interviews. Planning and organizational skills are a must! The right candidate will also be responsible for growing the online presence of the show, with the backing of the stations' website and social media platforms.
Duties include but not limited to:
• Organize, plan & maintain show content calendar, book guests, and schedule segments.
• Deciding which segments, guests, and stories are of most interest to our audience.
• Determine and supervise the order in which segments and guests will be told and scheduled in broadcasts.
• Ability to quickly adjust show segments and guests to accommodate breaking news or developing news relevant to our audience.
• Greet and assist guests during show preparations, putting them at ease on camera.
• Research show topics and segment ideas for guests.
• Balance feature elements and sponsored content to create a compelling show.
• Maintain a show social media account and assist with all online content.
• Write and approve scripts.
• Write and coach how to write compelling teases to bring viewers to our broadcasts.
• Time broadcasts and insure they are clean and correct on the air.
• Edit video for broadcast as well as online use when needed.
Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, communications, or related field of equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• At least two years of experience producing broadcast news.
• Experience working in Bitcentral and iNEWS.
• Organization skills are key - Ability to prioritize and schedule days in advance
• Deadline-driven and works well under pressure.
• Must be energetic, positive, and great in a team environment.
• A highly motivated self-starter, able to work well alone and as part of a team.
• Creative thinker who isn't afraid to try new ideas.
• Edit on Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects).
• Fluency in English with strong spelling, grammar, and excellent communication skills.
• Other duties as assigned – flexibility and forward thinking are key.
