THE ROLE
The Staff Accountant, Festivals Production Revenue performs accounting work in the generation, analysis, and maintenance of financial records related to Insomniac Festivals and Events. The position requires knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounting functions to complete tasks. The Staff Accountant is responsible to fully support the Manager, Revenue in full-cycle accounts receivable as related to Insomniac's various festivals. This includes the calculation and collection of monthly billings, and communication with Production Finance Festivals FP&A and Accounting teams. This individual may also be asked to perform ad-hoc analyses and create spreadsheets and reports for management as necessary. This is not a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Compile, calculate, and prepare event settlements and related work
• Act as a point of contact with event coordinators and assist in the reconciliation of the events and sponsorship groups' A/R aging
• Reconcile various general ledger accounts including cash and others
• Prepare and input journal entries and update month-end supporting schedules
• Respond to vendor, FP&A team, Producers, Promoters, and management inquiries on a timely basis
• Prepare various reports and analyses for management and other supportive duties
• Assist management with creation and application of accounting policies and procedures,
• Monitor receivable aging reports and collecting outstanding receivables
• Create supporting schedules for financial and budgetary activities
• Support Manager, Revenue/Ancillary Accounting on ways to implement efficiencies with processing and reporting activities, and implement as approved
• Perform ad hoc projects as determined to be necessary to complete monthly and annual tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of related work experience and CPA a plus
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have excellent organizational skills with a hands-on approach to complete tasks
• Must have basic knowledge of accounting principles and theory (debits and credits, accrual accounting, matching principle, materiality, balance sheet versus P&L accounts, etc.) and be able to apply said theories
• Ability to multitask on various daily duties and ad-hoc assignments
• Ability to access and accurately input information using internal systems
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with minimal direct supervision
• Ability to shift priorities considered necessary to accomplish prioritized tasks in a high-paced, results oriented environment
• Must be proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook applications
• Experience in a team, high-paced results oriented environment
• Experience with high-end accounting systems such as Oracle
• Public or private accounting with general ledger accounting experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
• May work in drastic temperature climates
• Must be willing to travel to work during evening, holiday and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
