IndieWire is looking for a Los Angeles-based Senior Social Media Manager to shape and lead how we show up across platforms, communities, and conversations. We're looking for a creative and strategic thinker who will be the driving force behind the social presence for IndieWire, Future of Filmmaking, and our collaborations with American Pavilion. This is more than just scheduling posts; it's about bringing a creative, strategic vision to life and making sure our voice cuts through the noise.
What You'll Do
• Develop and execute a multi-platform social media strategy centered on video to drive engagement and traffic
• Lead social content planning for live events, film festivals, and awards, aligning with brand priorities
• Integrate original and branded video content into a cohesive strategy, maximizing audience reach
• Collaborate with the video team to create shareable social video assets from editorial moments
• Manage the Senior Social Media Editor to strategically program content, maintaining IndieWire's voice
• Capture behind-the-scenes content and key moments at industry events, including IndieWire's own
• Track social performance, set growth-focused KPIs, and optimize strategies for increased video views
• Work with the sales team on sponsored content campaigns, ensuring creative and brand alignment
• Foster collaboration across editorial, video, and social teams for cohesive storytelling.
• Continuously assess and improve social strategies based on data and engagement insights
What You Bring
• 6+ years managing social media for entertainment or media brands, with a focus on video strategy
• Proven success in boosting video views and engagement through creative content distribution
• Expertise in short-form video (TikTok, IG Reels) and translating editorial priorities into social content
• Strong writing and editing skills for accurate, consistent, and engaging storytelling
• Passion for entertainment and ability to thrive in fast-paced, event-driven settings
• Collaborative mindset, working seamlessly across teams to align personal and brand goals
• Data-driven approach with a deep understanding of social metrics and business impact
• Leadership skills to mentor the Senior Social Media Editor and support creative growth
• Knowledge of both paid and organic social strategies, platform insights, and reporting
• Eager to capture content at key events, big and small

As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Typical wage range: $75k - $85k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits. PMC is committed to the health and wellness of our employees.
