Engineering Manager, Data Pipelines and Applications

Job Description

The DMED Data team is seeking an Engineering Manager who will be an extraordinary addition to our growing team. As an engineering leader in DMED Data, you will lead a team of backend software developers and data engineers to deliver high-quality scalable data solutions and services that meet data, reporting and analytical needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will provide leadership and technical skills to develop and implement data governance, data integrity, data engineering standards, data integration, and QA best practices. You will partner closely with data product managers to understand requirements, provide technical guidance to the team and ensure timely delivery of quality solutions. WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Lead backend software developers, data engineers and QA to deliver on data solution and services, data warehouse and data marts
• Lead data ingestion, modeling, integration and ETL using various data stores at scale
• Develop software engineering standard methodologies, guidelines, procedures, and repeatable and scalable frameworks
• Collaborate and partner with data product managers to understand roadmap and ensure timely delivery and acceptance of features and solutions
• Ensure operational and delivery efficiency, SLAs and lead Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for critical applications
• Lead the agile/scrum practice to ensure heath and process improvements for your team
• Collaborate with data and solution architects to implement high-quality, performant, scalable data architecture and information management framework
• Document, automate and enforce data quality, data integrity, and QA standard methodologies
• Manage prioritization and allocation of resources to optimize delivery
• Coach and mentor junior members of the team and provide the best data practices for data analysts

WHAT TO BRING

• Attention to detail and quality with excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Expert knowledge of SDLC, data engineering, data modeling, data warehousing, and high scalability data platforms
• Deep technical expertise in EDW methodologies, ETL, security, database optimization for query tuning
• Strong project management skills and experience with agile/scrum
• Expertise in SQL, Java/Scala, Python and other programming languages, UNIX/Linux, Informatica or other ETL tools
• 8+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with large scale data processing ecosystems (Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Spark, Kafka)
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Management or related field

NICE-TO-HAVES
• Industry experience in video streaming and OTT
• Full-stack development experience
• Experience with cloud solutions (AWS, Redshift, Snowflake, other)
