The Director of Development & Programming at History will be responsible for the development and production of original series, from conception and deal-making to pilot, production supervision and delivery. This position will be an active contributor to the overall History programming strategy.

More About What You'll Do

Director, Development & Programming, History:
• Develop new series for History, including meeting with and taking pitches from key and potential producers to discuss projects
• Supervise production of programs and series; review and approve outlines, scripts, rough cuts, budgets and post-production
• Maintain high degree of knowledge of current events and trends and discuss with staff and producers
• Carry EP responsibilities for assigned pilots and series
• Keep History series on the forefront of entertainment, both in ratings and reputation
• Evaluate current schedule and develop alternative programming to improve the performance of that schedule with an emphasis on rating goals

Your Story
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in development and production of unscripted content with a network or production company
• Strong knowledge of current production
• Established reputation and relationships within creative community
• Strong creative executive presence that possesses a strategic mindset and has the ability to promote a collaborative environment
• Natural leadership ability with strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skill
