Job Overview:
Hearst Magazines is looking for a Supervising Producer to work across Fashion & Luxury Group video content across all of its platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, linear/OTT and on-site). The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of the digital landscape as well as a strong drive to create engaging video content that offers a fresh, nuanced, and highly engaging. In addition to having a great eye and smart ideas, this person must be able to collaborate seamlessly to bring stories to life in video. Ideal candidates will have a deep well of ideas for and a strong vision for experimenting with formats and visual storytelling.
This position will report to the Director of Video.
Resonsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee creative identity of each brand and series, including but not limited to video tone, casting, set design, lighting, graphic design, creative prompts, music selection, etc
• Pitch ideas and create new video franchises across content verticals (On-Site, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok), working with the editorial team to identify opportunities that will translate into compelling video storytelling
• Lead team in brainstorming and developing innovative and shareable multi-platform series formats and creative concepts
• Write log lines, treatments, beat sheets, shot lists, and scripts for new and current programming
• Work closely with the brand teams to translate the editorial vision into video, while keeping video mandates and strategy at top of mind
• Produce video content from conception through distribution (including curating pre-production documents, directing on set, working through post and working closely with social teams for distribution)
• Work closely with marketing team to develop series for sales while staying true to brand voice
• Direct talent on set for both premium and social video
• Book/hire freelancers as needed for various projects with PM
• Manage post-production with Post team (give notes and feedback on various edits including story, pacing, GFX, music, color etc.)
• Implement best practices and style guides to ensure maximum performance
• Manage budget with PM team to maximize resources for creating new content
• Oversee a team of producers/AP's when necessary
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• 7-10 years creative production experience in genres like celebrity interviews, lifestyle, and unscripted; background in digital media is a must
• Ability to produce internet-forward, highly engaging short & long-form video
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for visual storytelling
• Strong understanding of production
• Deadline driven and results oriented
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Experience developing shows, writing treatments, and shooting pilots
• Experience creating branded content a plus
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Management and interpersonal skills that inspire passion, dedication, and excellence from others
The base salary for this role is $101-114k. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This position is based in the NY office a minimum of 3 days a week, but most likely closer to 4-5 based on the Production nature of the role. No remote option.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
