Job Description
Hearst Television is looking to hire a Staff Accountant. A key member of the Hearst Television Northeast Region Finance team, the Staff Accountant will be involved in various aspects of the day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who thrives working in a fluctuating environment and takes ownership of their responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Execution of monthly and year-end closings, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time.
• Participate in preparation of monthly forecasting, annual budgeting process and strategic long-range planning.
• Prepare and record routine and complex journal entries and accruals.
• Perform detailed research and analyses of P&L accounts, Balance Sheet, and various sub-ledgers. Prepare reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies on a routine and proactive basis.
• Generate, prepare, and distribute reports in support of month end close processes.
• Work cross functionally with corporate teams, in addition to other group accounting teams.
• Participating in special projects and ad hoc analysis.
• Work with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely data.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 3 years accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work well within a group environment and take the lead on projects and responsibilities.
• Experience with Smartview/Essbase and Oracle or SAP.
• Candidate must be a quick learner, detail oriented and be able to multi-task. Must be a proactive team player with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
