Software Engineer (ND)
The Neurodiversity Program
This is a diversity initiative that focuses on embracing the unique talents and perspectives of neurodivergent individuals (which includes people with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Tourette's and more).
The Hearst Magazines Technology Neurodiversity Program is a paid, full time 15-week apprenticeship program for junior level engineers interested in enhancing their technical skills. From January 16th – April 26th, 2024, our apprentices will gain an immersive, hands-on experience with one of the largest publishers in the world. In addition to working with their assigned team on important projects, apprentices will gain access to Hearst's diverse professional network by participating in 1:1 learning sessions with the option to participate in peer networking activities throughout the program.

Resonsibilities:
What You'll Do:
• Write, test, debug code for our Node/React/Next.js application.
• Be an important part of defining and estimating the work that the team commits to.
• Help challenge existing or define new processes.
• Consistently review your teammates' code. We like to have all code have a second pair of eyes from our engineers.
• Participate in scrum ceremonies.
• Work across teams with other engineers and/or across disciplines with scrum masters, product owners, designers, etc.
Qualifications:
Who You Are:
• You have 1-3 years of work experience.
• You want to contribute to the success of your team.
• You are interested in full-stack JavaScript development and are able to independently write performant and maintainable code.
• You have a desire to learn and continuously improve.
The base salary for this role is $35 per hour. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
