Your impact:

Hearst Magazines is looking for a data-driven, content-loving e-commerce and SEO specialist to help guide our brand's SEO efforts and e-commerce strategy. Reporting to Oprah Daily's Executive Director and working closely with the Deputy Editor, you will develop and execute the brand's e-commerce and SEO strategy. In this role, you will be the primary liaison to the Hearst Editorial Insights and Strategy team. You will work closely with Oprah Daily editors and writers to assign, write and publish high-quality, high-impact e-commerce and SEO content that aligns with the brand and meets the highest editorial standard. What you'll do:
• Own and execute the day-to-day SEO and publishing strategy for the Oprah Daily brand
• Write and Build e-commerce and SEO stories for the brand
• Regularly dig into the data and conduct a competitive analysis to find content gaps, identity key content opportunities, and propose new publishing experiments
• Be the primary liaison to the central SEO and Ecommerce teams at Hearst Magazine, bringing best practices and strategic insights to the Oprah Daily team
• Support training editors and writers on all things SEO and Ecomm strategy, including editorial and technical best practices
• Stay on top of news, pop culture, and service journalism trends, in support of executing smart SEO and Ecommerce content on OprahDaily.com
• Be a passionate student of the Oprah brand, with an ability to execute top quality SEO and Ecommerce content in the brand voice and to the standards of the brand
• Use Google Analytics, SEM Rush, and other SEO tools to ID trends, track performance, share wins, perform case studies, and find ways to iterate on successes. Superb analytical skills are a must!
• Stay on top of industry news and algorithm changes
• Provide ongoing insights and/or strategy debriefs to executive management and other teams internally, including tech, biz dev, sales, and others

Who you are:
• You have 2-3 years of hands-on SEO experience
• You have a familiarity with and a passion for the Oprah brand-and for our editorial mission to support our audience's goals to live with purpose
• You have a deep love of data and looking for insights into numbers; experience with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics required
• You are detail-oriented, self-motivated, energetic, and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced publishing environment
• You are a team player with a problem-solving mindset who is excited to join a start-up team
• You have experience with all the essential SEO digital publishing and tracking tools, including Google Webmaster, SEM Rush (or other similar research tools), search visibility trackers, Microsoft Excel, and digital content management systems
• You have a keen interest in the evolution of the search landscape and best practices, how to implement the latest ethical techniques, and how to connect those to high-quality content in our brand voice
• You are a lover of good storytelling
