Your impact:
Cosmopolitan and Seventeen seek a thoughtful, creative, highly organized Senior Fashion Editor with serious market chops and a fountain of ideas to create fashion content across digital and print. This role calls for an experienced editor who will lead certain fashion markets, style and edit pieces ranging from quick-turn digital stories to print features and fashion well stories. The ideal candidate is fearlessly creative, thrives in a cross-collaborative work environment, and has experience working for both print and digital publications. This role will report to the Fashion Director.
What you'll do:
• Lead consistent fashion market research, building a wealth of brand knowledge across different markets.
• Call in appropriate products for all shoots and stories requiring fashion and styling.
• Contribute to brainstorms for fashion content across print and digital, including but not limited to photo shoot creative, shopping stories and fashion features.
• Lead pitches for fashion features across both print and digital.
• Style front-of-book features, well stories and portraits as needed.
• Represent Cosmopolitan and Seventeen at events with warmth and professionalism.
• Cultivate strong relationships with brands and creative collaborators.
• Mentor and help manage junior staff members.
• Work closely with visual teams on concepts for layouts and imagery.
• Work cross-collaboratively across other departments including entertainment, social, commerce and features.
• Seek, manage, and grow relationships with both established stylists and up-and-coming creatives.
• Help delegate and manage the wider team and assistant(s), ensuring processes and protocols are met up to standard in the closet and on shoots.
Who you are:
• 5-8 years of post-grad experience in the fashion department of a print publication.
• A considered point-of-view, high standards, and an understanding of what makes Cosmopolitan unique.
• Strong experience on set, assisting and styling.
• Experience leading a fashion closet, delegating responsibilities and tasks to fashion assistants and junior colleagues.
• Collaborative, obsessively organized, professional, and energetic, with the ability to execute a photoshoot under pressure and the desire to grow and thrive in a fast-paced publishing environment.
• Passion for the brand and its editorial mission with a proactive attitude.
Resonsibilities:
The base salary for this role is $74k-$80k The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This position is based in the NYC office a minimum of 3 days a week.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
